JOHANN SALAZAR

Johann Salazar has completed his graduation in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College. He is an accomplished singer, speaks French and has completed several courses in computer hardware and networking.

His articles have been published in the journals of the Economics, Sociology and History departments. He has worked with the visually challenged at the Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged. Johann is currently pursuing an MA (honours) course at the University of Mumbai.

MEHJABEEN JAGMAG

Mehjabeen Jagmag has worked as a freelance journalist with DNA (daily newspaper) and Outlook (monthly magazine). Mehjabeen writes features on the city, its art and culture. She also works with a theatre organisation, and has curated an exhibition, a film club and a musical event for a youth theatre festival – Thespo.

She is to shortly commence a course at the School of Oriental and African Studies as a Felix Scholar.

PARTHO P. CHAKRABARTTY

Partho P. Chakrabartty graduated with a B.A. in English Literature. He has been published in the Mumbai Mirror and HT Café and has worked as a Freelance Book Reviewer for Verve Magazine. He has also worked as freelance consultant to Vakils Feffer & Simons Ltd. and co-authored a book on the Tata Jagriti Yatra.

He is currently pursuing his M.A. in English Literature from the Mumbai University’s Institute of Distance Education.

SUCHETA KANJILAL

Sucheta Kanjilal graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and completed her M.A. (First Class) from the Mumbai University. An accomplished singer, she was also editor of several college publications. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, she taught English at the remedial school at the NGO Vidya. Sucheta has worked with CNBC Awaaz, a popular Indian news channel and as a copy editor at Rouge, a supplement of the Times of India.

She is to shortly commence a course at the School of Oriental and African Studies as a Felix Scholar.

SHARVARI SASTRY

Sharvari Sastry topped the university B.A. exam in English Literature. An alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, she has been on the organizing committees of various college festivals and has contributed articles to the journals of the English, Sociology and Psychology departments at St. Xavier’s College.

Sharvari has worked as a teacher with the Sujaya Foundation that teaches conversational English to students who have been educated in vernacular schools. She has also worked with the Pomegranate Workshop and is currently working with Theatre Professionals.

RITIKA D’SOUZA

Ritika D’Souza graduated from St. Xavier’s College under the University of Mumbai with Honours in English Literature. She has organised and participated in a number of socially-relevant activities as President of the Interact Club of her school, and a volunteer for the NGO Aseema.

Ritika has participated in a teacher-training course conducted by Englishbook and has conducted training sessions for other Englishbook employees. She has also co-facilitated workshops conducted for teachers and parents by Kahani India. She works part-time with The Pomegranate Workshop, managing a library programme at a primary school and is now managing Tara Education Association.
