AKSHAT NIGAM

Akshat Nigam graduated with a degree in English Literature and is currently pursuing an MPhil in English. He has great experience in theatre and film production. For the last year he has also been programming and organising workshops at “The Pomegranate Workshop” in art, theatre and creative writing. These workshops seek to encourage creative, experience-based learning.

NAFISA JAGMAG

Nafisa Jagmag has been working as a primary teacher in Vanita Vishram and Diamond Jubilee High School for two years. She has completed her E.C.C.E diploma course in primary education. She has also worked as a teacher for primary and pre-primary students during summer camps.

PROF. JEAN PEREIRA

Prof. Pereira has an M.A. and a B.Ed with 15 years experience teaching in schools in Saudi Arabia and a junior college in Mumbai. She currently works as a mental health counsellor for dysfunctional families, drug addicts, alcoholics and HIV patients. She is associated with Karuna Hospital, Golden Park Hospital and Asha Deep Medical Society. She also counsels students at St. Anthony’s Convent and Mary Immaculate Girl’s High School. She is involved in awareness programmes that encourage value-based behavior amongst youth from marginalised communities. She is also Managing Trustee of J.E.E.W. (Journey to Empower and Emancipate Women).

VIREN SHAH

A mentor for the Indian component of the Humanitarian Movement, Mr Shah works with around 20 villages across India. His organisation stands for equality of mankind and works towards the all round development of the village. Mr Shah also holds conferences for individuals as well as organisations to create sensitivity towards and understanding of the Humanitarian Movement.

VERNON D’SOUZA

Vernon D’Souza has 6 years of experience in Training, Consultation, Education Management and Administration in both urban and rural setups. He was a consultant to the Directorate of Education which was over all in charge of the development of the education system of approximately 80 schools in the state of Chattisgarh, where he also set up the High school and Higher Secondary school. He has also conducted special training programmes for youth in leadership and social change and organized and executed intensive  adult literacy programmes.

AVI GHODKE

Avi Ghodke began his distinguished career in social service as a camp coordinator for the Rashtra Seva Dal in Maharashtra. In 1997 he joined Pratham, a leading Indian NGO, and worked with school drop outs and child labourers. He was at the helm of Pratham’s operations in Lucknow and also worked with Child Labour legislation in the states of Maharashtra and Bihar. He is currently working with RAN Research, heading the Mumbai operations of their “Englishbook” initiative.
